OpenGeo is a customized platform that enables the management of a Geomechanical Laboratory, the data analysis and the integration of various laboratory testing apparatus.
The Data Analysis Module allows the interpretation of different geomechanical tests, including triaxial tests, oedometric and compressibility tests. It also provides some tools for data preprocessing, and it includes an import module to open and standardize files with specific formats from different laboratory equipment. The output of the Data Analysis Module is provided by the report generator module that is able to build a customized and standard report for each performed analysis, including all the useful graphs in a standard format.
The Laboratory Management Module allows the remote control of a number of testing apparatus, the activity planning and the management of the planned tests (like test parameterization and timing).
The platform is design to be flexible and expandable. Each analysis module is developed in form of stand-alone plugin that can be autonomously installed or not, depending on the custom license.
The import module can be customized to open and standardize different data files. It is structured as a database of templates and can be expanded including new data structures, i.e. new templates.
The platform is developed in Python and it uses Qt, Numpy, Pandas and Matplotlib libraries. It operates on all major platforms (Linux, OSX, Windows) and it implement a graphical user interface designed with QT Designer.
